Next Door’s monthly international dining series will showcase Spanish food in April and Greek food in May.
Next Door restaurant is unveiling a new dining experience on Monday nights in downtown Bedford that offers an opportunity to tour the world, one plate at a time.
The restaurant, which receives support and assistance from Startup Alleghenies and coach Jen Marsh, kicks off the series on April 3. New international dining experiences will be held on the first and third Mondays of each month. Each month a new country will be featured.
The evening dinner service gives the restaurant an opportunity to reach more of the community, and broaden the dining horizons in this rural area, according to Next Door’s co-founder Davide Ferrari.
“We can open our doors to people who have a traditional work schedule, who can’t make it to us for breakfast or lunch,” owner Haley Feaster said in an interview with the Bedford Gazette. She also noted that the decision was in part a response to public requests for more dining options on Monday evenings.
Ferrari creates the menus and meals for Lifestyle’s weekend trattoria experience and will take the lead in the kitchen for the international dinners, as well. Ferrari’s trattoria offerings are always authentic Italian cuisine that is part of his native Italian tradition.

Before moving to Bedford from his home in northern Italy, he and his friends would host dinner parties with different international-themed meals, focusing on traditional dishes that sometimes took six to eight hours to prepare. He said he is excited to bring that experience to Next Door.
The dinners will feature an appetizer, a choice of entrée, and dessert. All dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Reservations are required but can be made up to a few hours before the meal begins at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited to about 50 guests. The cost is $45 per person.
The first meals will be held April 3 and 17, and will feature a Spanish theme, including tapas and a dessert of crema catalana, which Ferrari explained is similar to a crème brûlée but “it is somehow three times better than that,” he said.
May dinners, on May 1 and 15, will feature a Greek menu. Reservations can be made at www.lifestylenextdoor.com.
