SAP&DC’s Debbi Prosser is Athena Award Winner

 In Blair County

The Blair Chamber Gala on June 20 will recognize three businesses and six individuals for its annual awards. The evening will also include music, dancing and a champagne toast.

This year’s prestigious Athena Award will be presented to Debbi Prosser, Director of Business Development for the Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission. The Athena Award is a national award presented by chambers of commerce to an individual who demonstrates the qualities embodied in the Athena Leadership Model and has achieved the highest level of professional excellence, contributes time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and actively assists others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential.

Debbi joined SAP&DC in 1984 and embraced the opportunity to spearhead diverse and impactful projects, eventually ascending to her current role as Director of Business Development—a position she has held for 32 years.

Among her many projects and initiatives, Startup Alleghenies holds a special place for Debbi because it nurtures and empowers new and emerging businesses within the region. Debbi finds profound satisfaction in being part of the journeys of these enterprising individuals, which ultimately culminate in stronger and more dynamic communities. Debbi is looking forward to retirement on June 30, 2024, after a long and successful career.
