McConnellsburg is a remote worker’s dream. 

Local places, like the Daily Drip Co., are great spots for sending emails or working on freelance projects. During lunch breaks, remote workers can escape to the nearby outdoors and go on a walk on one of Cowans Gap State Park’s many easy trails.

Over the years, McConnellsburg has grown into a supportive environment for small businesses and entrepreneurs. The Fulton Industrial Development Association, Inc. (FIDA) has been helping local businesses in Fulton County obtain low-interest financing for over 30 years.

With machinery, healthcare and educational services as the top three industries in the region, and a majority of workers having a short commute to work, McConnellsburg is the perfect place for those looking for a steady career.

After a successful day at work, McConnellsburg provides plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the region. 

The downtown area offers a variety of restaurants and cafes. Local favorites like Johnnie’s Diner serve hearty American fare in a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for unwinding with colleagues or friends.

For a taste of local culture, the Olde Towne Kitchen prides itself on its warm, cozy atmosphere and delicious food, fostering connections among residents.

Weekend fun

Weekends in McConnellsburg are perfect for exploring the great outdoors. Again, Cowans Gap State Park and nearby mountain trails offer hiking, fishing and picnicking opportunities amidst stunning natural beauty. The rolling hills and scenic views are perfect for a refreshing break from daily routines.

There’s also always something going on in McConnellsburg and the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism’s calendar keeps residents up-to-date on all the local community events. These events range from the Fulton Fall Folk Festival to community Paint Night @ Needle in the Haystack. Family-friendly activities abound as well, with seasonal events and festivals that engage the community and provide entertainment throughout the year.

For those interested in the history of the region, the Fulton County Historical Society’s Museum Annex, the Fulton House and the Winegardener School showcase the town’s rich heritage, with exhibits that highlight local artifacts and stories from the past.
