Somerset County’s newest market is a community-driven initiative to connect local farmers, producers and artisans with customers who value buying local. This year’s market promises to be a hub of community where friends and neighbors can socialize, shop and learn about the benefits of support local agriculture and art.
The market is committed to promoting sustainable farming practices and providing access to high-quality, nutritious food to everyone in the community, and will feature a diverse selection of seasonal produce, meats, dairy products, baked goods, and handmade crafts, all sourced from within a 50-mile radius of Uptown Somerset.
Built on the belief that education is key to building a more sustainable food system, the market will also offer a variety of educational programs and workshops that teach children and adults about the benefits of eating local, how to grow their own food, and the critical importance of supporting small-scale farmers and producers.

Presented by the Windber Municipal Authority, the Market in the Park offers a selection of local vendors who “make it, bake it or grow it!” You’ll find local honey, produce and wine and an array of cool, handmade crafts and creations.
In addition to growers, crafters and makers, the market regularly features coffee and food truck vendors, making it a popular community destination.
