Program that helps entrepreneurs expands to include Bedford, Huntingdon

BEDFORD, Pa. (WJAC) — The Startup Alleghenies organization grew Wednesday to include Bedford, Huntingdon and Fulton counties after it received new funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission.
The organization supports local entrepreneurs by pairing them up with coaches and helping them make contacts, work out logistics and solve funding questions.
Debbi Prosser, director of business development, said part of the goal of the program is to help support the local economy.
“The region will be strongest if we build from within. “People that start businesses who live here are less likely to take that business somewhere else, because this is their home.“
