Upcoming TechCelerator@Altoona a Great Opportunity for Startups

 In Blair County, Business, Entrepreneurship

Do you have a new, tech-based business idea that you’d like to commercialize?  Are you located in or near the Altoona region?  If so, you’ll want to check out Ben Franklin’s weekly business startup boot camps.

The BF TechCelerator@Altoona has seats available for its January cohort.  These eight week sessions will be held in the Ben Franklin Board Room in Catalyst Space, 1331 12th Avenue, Altoona, PA, from 10:00 AM – Noon.  Classes will start January 23, 2018 and run for the next eight consecutive Tuesdays ending on March 13, 2018.

Topics to be discussed over the eight weeks include identifying your target market as well as your competition, business and revenue models, value propositions, legal issues, and cost structures to name just a few.  You’ll come away from this experience with a viable business plan as well as a list of networking contacts and a path forward.  You’ll also gain the confidence that comes from knowing if it’s the right time for you to start your own tech-business – or not.

This is a great opportunity! You and the others in the class will get the chance to pitch a business idea to a panel of judges at the completion of the course.  If you win, you will receive $10,000 in seed funding to help get your startup UP and running. The Boot Camps are free of charge, but space is limited. Contact Jerry Hudson at 814-242-3034 or jrh498@psu.edu . For more information click on https://cnp.benfranklin.org/techcelerator-at-altoona
