How to Grow Your Small Business: Downtown Altoona Business Community

Is your small business ready to grow? Are you afraid to take the next steps? How do you find staff? How to you find the resources to hire employees? How do you find the courage to take the risks needed to expand?

These questions and more will be answered at the upcoming October 3 meeting of the Downtown Altoona Business Community, to be held at The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) at 1210 11th Avenue, from 6 – 7:30 pm.

Playtime Pottery and Clay Cup owner, Sarah Vogel, and John Horell, president of KIZ Resources, will share their experiences. In just over two years, Vogel has started two businesses in two locations. Horell has leveraged his accounting background to help business owners take advantage of government incentives.

Those who are looking to start businesses are encouraged to attend, along with small business/non-profit organization owners who are ready to grow their businesses and organizations.

You do not have to be a member of the Downtown Altoona Business Community to attend, but please let us know if you will be coming so we can save you a seat. The meeting will include the popular “What’s New” segment, where attendees are encouraged to share what is happening with each’s business or organization.

The DABC is committed to creating a renaissance in the heart of Altoona, with specific emphasis on small business development/attraction/ growth, retention of area graduates, preservation of Altoona’s architectural heritage, and increasing cultural diversity.
