Wendy Downs, of Moop Shop

Wendy Downs is the owner of Moop Shop, as well as one of its designers and manufacturers. Based in Pittsburgh, Moop makes all sorts of bags, such as backpacks, clutches, and messenger bags, preferring utility and versatility in their small-batch manufactured products.

Founded in early 2007 in western Massachusetts, on principles of ethical labor, quality design and utilitarian function. Moop has grown from a project of one, to a project of many. Currently headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. We believe in wandering through hemlock forests, cycling city streets and gathering around backyard campfires. Wendy and her team design with understated minimalism, clean lines and classic uniform style in mind.

The goals of this series for Craft Business Thursdays @ Creator Square are to update the community on Creator Square’s progress in anticipation of the building’s renovation and program rollout in 2018-19; discuss concepts like ‘craft business,’ makers movement,’ and entrepreneurialism; and feature a talented and accomplished craft business person/maker during each lecture.

The Community Arts Center of Cambria County is proud to host the CBT@ Creator Square at the Community Arts Center’s Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center gallery. The CBT@ Creator Square will be a series of monthly lectures featuring various guest speakers.
