Johnstown Area Regional Industries stated that “jobs are becoming more abundant in our region” in its just-released 2017 annual report, titled “Momentum Matters.”

In a letter introducing the report, Linda Thomson, president and CEO of JARI, touted the impending completion of a new four-lane segment of U.S. Route 219 between Somerset and Meyersdale, JARI’s collaboration with Johnstown’s Vision 2025 initiative and the success of the 2018 Cambria County Job Fair.

The report focuses largely on JARI’s support of startups and other small businesses in the region. Forty-four Cambria County startups were enrolled in the Startup Alleghenies initiative in 2017, a number that has since grown to more than 70, Thomson said this week.

According to the report, JARI is continuing to expand financing opportunities for small businesses such as Johnstown’s Press Bistro and Manor Meadows Farm in Everett.
